The holidays are coming up fast! And our friends at the Mile High Business Alliance are kicking off “Buy Local Week” November 30-December 6. Here’s what they’re saying:

“Buy Local Week (November 30-December 6) is our chance to positively impact our local economy while finding unique gifts for friends and loved ones. It’s also anopportunity to raise our collective voice in support of the businesses that provide so much for our community. You see, business is not an abstract concept. It doesn’t occur in isolation, and it does have an impact on our quality of life, every day. Not only do businesses provide the goods and services we need, but they employ our neighbors and pay local taxes, and do business with other local companies, and all of those activities add up to equal our local economy. Even Mayor Hickenlooper does a good job explaining why local businesses are so vital to our community.”

We couldn’t agree more. As a part of Buy Local Week, Boutique Apartments (ahem, a local business) will be profiling our favorite businesses around Denver. Stay tuned for our selections in the coming days ... and avoid the headaches of Black Friday by purchasing goodies from a local business!
