The Real Cost of Moving

We strive to make your Boutique Apartments living experience a great one, and we know that eventually some residents will move on. Before making that decision to move, take a look at the “real cost” of moving into a new place (note that costs are approximate):

Change of drivers license: $10
New checks: $20
Moving boxes: $60
New apartment application fee for 2: $70
New deposit for apartments: $250
First month’s rent or prorated rent: $700
If you own a pet: $150 and up
Phone installation and deposit: $65
Utility deposit or transfer: $20
Cable hookup: $50
Time off work: $120
Truck rental: $200
Miscellaneous costs: $50

Total: $1,700+

In addition, consider hassles like: packing and unpacking, address changes for bills, magazines, newspapers, cleaning your old place, time and energy spent searching for a new place, damaged or broken belongings during the move, calling utility and phone companies, and waiting for the cable installer.

If your lease is up soon, please give our office a call to discuss the financial benefits of renewing your place with us. You might end up saving more than you think. 303.333.3773.
